The speaker for the talk was Mr.Nipesh Ranjan Nath, alumni from MBA (Rural Management) batch of 2011-13. Currently, he leads CSR and Sustainability at Adani Total Private Limited in Bhadrak, Odisha. With 13 years of experience in development, consultancy and CSR, Mr. Nipesh has made significant contributions in organizations like ACCESS Development Services, Prayatna Samiti, Mrida Group, MART Global Management Solutions, PwC, CMR Green Technologies Ltd., and Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd.
Mr. Nipesh’s talk centered around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explored how CSR can positively impact society. He spoke about how CSR is influenced by societal expectations and regulatory pressures and how it can lead to meaningful changes in communities. He shared emerging trends, particularly in developing nations, focusing on areas like employment engagement, well-being, environmental sustainability, inclusive growth, and ethical supply chains. Key points included promoting renewable energy, cutting down carbon emissions, harnessing technology and innovation, and prioritizing local CSR projects. Mr. Nipesh also emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and engaging with stakeholders effectively.
