Mr. Chinmay Biswal, MBA (Rural Management) batch of 2009-11 was the speaker for the talk.  He is a senior consultant at Ernst & Young (EY). In his 12 years of professional experience, Mr. Chinmay  has worked with brands such as Theorem INC, DSAG (an autonomous society under the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat), Safal Solutions, and SRIJAN. He has diverse experiences across multiple sectors, including the government, corporate, consulting and rural development domains.

He delivered his talk on the topic “integrating technology in the development sector”. He detailed about the technologies that can be used in different sectors viz., public health (web/mobile technology, drone technology), agriculture (drone, internet, satellite imaging). He also spoke about the “life-cycle of tech-driven interventions”, challenges in implementing with the help of technology, current scenarios like changing dynamic of development sector, programmatic impact, monitoring and evaluation. Mr. Chinmay pointed out the three pillars with the managerial perspective in the implementation with technology as management, subject matter expertise and technology. He gave a brief elaboration of the “how the system works?” with the Heek’s ICT 4D model along with the myths and facts about fitting into the tech sector especially for those who do not have any technical background. Mr. Chimay concluded the talk by suggesting the students on what they can do about to be updated with the trends in the sector.
