In a dazzling display of college spirit and camaraderie, the KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) hosted its highly anticipated Freshers Welcome Party, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the incoming 2024 batch of Agri Business Management and Rural Management students. Held on July 26th at the Campus 17 auditorium, the event seamlessly combined fun, music, and warm welcomes, setting a vibrant tone for the academic year ahead.

The evening kicked off with the finale of a weeklong Talent Contest, showcasing the creativity, personality, and enthusiasm of the new batch. The competition featured five engaging events: Yaari (selfie with a senior), KSRM Daze (reel competition), Razzle Dazzle (ramp walk), Jalwa (one-minute talent hunt), and I Am the Best (question-answer round). The top two contestants were crowned Mr. and Miss Freshers 2024. Judged by a distinguished panel of senior students and faculty members, including Professor Nishit Parida, Director of KSRM, and the dean Prof.Damodar Jena, the contests celebrated the diverse talents of the incoming students. Special guest Madam Gipsita Nayak, Deputy Director of the KIIT School of Fashion Technology, was invited to judge the Ramp Walk competition.

The evening truly came alive with a series of live performances by both juniors and seniors. The highlight was an electrifying performance by Oasis, the KSRM band, whose dynamic music had everyone dancing and singing along. The lively atmosphere saw students from both years joining forces to groove to the latest hits and timeless classics.

The theme for the evening, “Our Tomorrow Starts Today,” underscored the significance of current actions in shaping the future. Parichay 2024 set the stage for new friendships and growth, making it a memorable start to the students’ journey at KSRM.

Culinary delights also played a key role in the event. A diverse array of delicacies, from savory snacks to decadent desserts, was served during lunch, ensuring there was something to please every palate.

Overall, the Freshers Welcome Party was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the supportive and vibrant community that defines KIIT School of Rural Management. As the new students embark on their academic journey, the event provided a warm and festive introduction to the college’s welcoming environment.
