The speaker for the talk was Mr. Siddhant Kumar, an alumnus from MBA (Rural Management) batch of 2020-22. Presently, he works as a business consultant in the Government Sector Advisory at Palladium India. Earlier he had worked with Grant Thornton Bharat LLP and MasterPeace. Mr. Siddhant holds a B. Tech degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and had worked with Capgemini prior to pursuing his MBA in Rural Management from KIIT School of Rural Management.
Mr. Siddhant initiated the talk by sharing his transition from the software sector to the development sector. His talk them delved into CSR, skill development, consulting and the nonprofit sector. He emphasized the need to understand various sectors like consulting firms, think tanks, banking, agribusiness, and government agencies like NRLM. He highlighted the significance of practical experience, particularly internships, where one needs have a clear understanding on the deliverables. He further emphasized the significance of networking for the students. Mr. Siddhant advised students to build a strong foundation in development management by reading journals and policy papers. He encouraged them to develop the habit of writing good articles while pursing their MBA degree and make the best out of the two years that they are spending at KSRM.
