Research in Rural Management must be relevant to the needs and challenges of rural communities, development institutions, cooperatives, social enterprises, government agencies, and other stakeholders engaged in rural transformation. Such research requires scholars to develop a deep understanding of rural realities through field engagement, participatory approaches, and interdisciplinary perspectives, along with the ability to design and execute rigorous research that informs policy, strengthens institutions, and contributes to sustainable rural development.

Keeping this in mind, the PhD programme at KSRM is designed  to provide students with research knowledge and research skills that make them specialized researchers, with adequate depth of knowledge in address contemporary issues such as sustainable livelihoods, agricultural development, rural entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, natural resource management, social equity, and community resilience while generating practical, evidence-based solutions. It is further envisaged that the Center will emerge as an inclusive platform for cross-disciplinary research in various fields as well.
