The MBA (RM) 2018-20 students presented their MTS presentation in a 3-day long Schedule. It was started on 22^nd Oct 19 and ended in 24^th Oct 19.

A 3-day orientation and training programme was organized for the 2019-21 batches on Action Research Segment. The training programme continued from 14^th Oct 2019 to 16^th Oct 2019

CSR Summit 2016

 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a dynamic subject in the changing industrial and social scenario, today. Many leading industrial houses, social organizations and individuals are putting various efforts and doing innovations in the domain. To bring the key stake holders together and discuss on the agenda, OdishaLIVE had organized ‘Odisha CSR Summit’.

 This event, in association with KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) was held on 12 April at Bhubaneswar. Looking into the contemporary need, the organizers had chosen ‘CSR and Inclusive Growth’ as the key agenda of ‘Odisha CSR Summit 2016’.

 “The summit was inaugurated by minister of industries and mass education Debi Prasad Mishra. Similarly several veteran business leaders, CSR heads, domain experts and academicians also participated in the panel discussion on ‘CSR and Inclusive Growth’ to churn out on the subject.

 Best CSR Practices Awards was another attraction of the event. Different business organizations and CSR initiators were felicitated at the event for their innovations and extra ordinary contributions to the field.

 Along with minister of Industries, dignitaries like Dr. Prasanna Kumar Pattasani, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA; and Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, BMC shall grace the event.

 Similarly the panelists included Shri Charudutta Panigrahi, Founder of FIDR, Gurgaon; Dr. Suvendu Das, President, HR, OSL Group; Prof. L. K. Vaswani, Director, KSRM, KIIT University; Jagadananda, Mentor and Co-founder, CYSD and Shri Prasant Kumar Hota, Group CSR Head & Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications, JSPL.

 The event was attended by corporate leaders and representatives from various corporate houses, Governmental Officials, NGOs and start-ups and students of technical, management and social domains.

The Big Bang Idea was a team competition and the participating teams were invited to develop a concept and / or business plan / model. This event received 13 entries from different B Schools across India from which 5 teams were selected for the final presentation at the conclave. The winners were declared after a rigorous process of short listing and judged by an eminent jury.

KIIT School of Rural Management team comprising of second year students, Mr. Yashwant Raj Sethia, Mr. Gaurab Raj and Ms. Paulami Adgiri, was the winner in the competition with NISER Bhubaneswar and TISS Mumbai taking 2nd and 3rd spot.

The winning idea “Krishi Jagat” spoke of women SHG federation providing all farming services from inputs to market under one umbrella and integrating the model with the government program Mahila Kishan Sashaktikaran Pariyojna (MKSP), a sub component of National Livelihood Rural Mission.

The KSRM team won a cash award of Rs. 20,000/- for being the winner of this competitive event.

KSRM has always been proud of the fact that her Foundation Stone was laid by none other than the legendary Dr Kurien. In the same spirit KSRM family decided to celebrate Dr. Kurien’s birthday on 26th November 2014. The celebration was attended by all the students, Faculty and Staff of KSRM. Prof L.K. Vaswani, Director, KSRM who was closely associated with Dr Kurien shared various moments of his association while at IRMA and later at KSRM. He also shared with students the advices given by him from time to time and in the moments of hardship in which he stood by Dr Kurien.

Prof J. Acharya who was faculty at IRMA in late 80’s also shared some significant events happened at that time. Prof Pradeep Mishra also recounted his opinions on Dr Kurien during his stay in IRMA as FPRM Scholar.

In his concluding remarks, Prof Vaswani advised the students to follow the path of hard work and integrity and draw some lessons from the life of Dr Kurien whose initiatives made tremendous impact on life of rural poor in India.

Visit to Kendrapara Coastal Villages

As a part of the field learning trip, the MBA (Rural management) students of 7th Batch visited Kendrapara Costal Villages along with two faculty members on 2nd November 2014. The students interacted with the villagers who are vulnerable and learned about the different challenges they face. The visit to mangrove forest in boat, interaction with vulnerable village people and the visit to the synthetic wall construction site were the key activities. The field learning trip gave the students better understanding about the need to protect environment and other interventions to reduce the adverse effect of climate change on coastal villages.

KSRM 2nd year students participated in Vista, the annual international business summit hosted by IIM Bangalore from 26th of September to 29th of September, 2014. A team of seven students from KSRM  – team “Pratidhwani” – the echo of society participated in a social initiative event called JAAGURTI which was a street play competition. Although the team was not amongst top three ranks but their performance was highly appreciated by Dr Zulfia Shaikh, Founder Director, Bangalore school of speech and drama.

Students were overwhelmed to have the opportunity to meet with eminent personalities like ad guru Mr. Prahalad Kakkar, Ronnie Screwvala the founder of UTV. The conclave was also attended by corporate leaders such as Sanjay Anand, Partner Engineer Director at Microsoft, and Shailesh Kekre, Senior Partner with McKinsey & Co India

Prof Ajit Mani, adjunct faculty of KSRM conducted 2 day workshop on LFA and Micro-planning, to introduce the students to LFA and share with them how  he applied it in a Joint Forest Management project. He was assisted by Prof Sumita Sindhi on JFM part .He also conducted sessions on Results and Stakeholder Analysis on the first day.
