KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) organized a webinar on “Perspectives in Development” for the students of MBA (RM) on 26th February 2021.
The speaker for the webinar, Mr. Satya Dev G, Managing Partner, ABY Farmers LLP discussed about the issues faced by the farmers and their collectives like not have direct linkage with the consumers, limited role of existing farmer organizations in processing and marketing of farmers produce and not getting the benefit of value addition of their produce. It is in this backdrop that his company wants to resolve the issues of farmers as well as ensuring chemical free products to the consumers. The company shares 50% of the profits with the farmers and facilitates integrated services to farmers through farmer organization.
Mr. Satya Dev holds a rural management degree from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). He graduated in B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University. During his 18 years of experience in the development sector, he worked with various national and international development organizations, Government departments at state and central levels and coordinated large livelihood projects, designed and implemented collective enterprises for increasing the income levels of marginalized people.
