The alumni committee of KSRM organized an alumni talk on the topic ‘Powering the Agri input industry through integration of field insights and data intelligence.’

The speaker for the talk was Mr. Anshuman Das, alumni from the MBA (Agribusiness Management) batch of 2022-24. Presently he serves as a Senior Analyst at Seed works International Ltd. His professional work revolves around key areas such as banking, microfinance, and the agricultural input sector.

In the talk, Mr. Anshuman Das specifically focused on opportunities for young professionals in agribusiness industries, agri input industry and how data helps in mitigating the risk and streamlining the business. These focus areas are critical for supporting the rural economy, as they enable access to financial services and essential farming inputs for farmers and rural communities. Mr. Anshuman contributed to understanding the agri-input industry, which plays a significant role in boosting agricultural productivity. He discussed various types of rice found in the market, providing insights into their characteristics and uses. These include open-pollinated rice varieties, which are cost-effective and can be reused by farmers, as well as hybrid rice, known for higher yield potential. He also mentioned Basmati and aromatic rice varieties, which have commercial and export value. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of bio-fortified and blast-resistant rice varieties, which offer nutritional benefits and resistance to diseases.
