As a part of the webinar series on “CSR and Development”, KSRM organized a talk on 03.09. 2021 for the students of MBA (Rural Management).

The speaker for the talk was Mr. Amar Prasad, Director (CSR) and Head of the PTC Foundation Trust (A trust established by PTC India Ltd. and group companies). Over the past 40 years of his career, Mr. Prasad worked in different senior level positions in Government, PSUs and NGOs. He was an Indian Forest Service officer and had worked in the Ministries of Rural Development and Agriculture. He was also deputed as the CEO of  Gramin Vikas Trust. Mr. Prasad has vast experience of working at the grass root level with the rural community on issues related to agriculture and rural development.

Mr. Prasad shared about PTC Foundation Trust’s work in various thematic areas and different geographical locations. He also shared about the impact of these initiatives at the individual as well as community level. Mr. Prasad explained how their project on green energy with Akshaya Patra Foundation is helping not only in saving expenses on energy but also contributing to adding more benefeciaries with the savings. Mr. Prasad highlighted some of the changes made in the recent CSR rules, the rationale for the same and how these amendements will help in better planning and implementation of CSR activities. He also discussed some of the major strategies adopted in the implementation of the CSR programmes.
